Doujinshi Scans
Doujinshi are self-published Japanese (and sometimes English) fan comics, usually in the form of manga or novels. They are often the work of amateurs and can be parodies of existing series or original content. I first started collecting doujinshi a few years ago, and use them as a practice for reading Japanese. Most of the scans here come from my own collection, and I would appreciate it if they were not distributed (least I will have to place a large, ugly watermark on them). However, other scans were found on various websites, and if the site is still available it is credited. I am in the process of translating the scans and will post them as soon as i'm finished. I also highly recommend buying your own doujinshi if you enjoy these scans. A good place to start if you are interested is eBay.com.

Summary: I am currently re-doing these scans. This book is quite small at only 18 pages, but it contains three short stories. The ones shown here are about InuYasha's childhood The book begins with a short story about InuYasha asking about various plant life and then moves into a story about InuYasha, Kagome and the rest of thier friends. The final story is slightly more serious and involves InuYasha's failed attempt to join the kemari game. However, the ending is quite funny.
TITLE: Sakubou TsukiMEANING: The First Day of the Full Moon
CIRCLE: Vitamen X
GENRE: normal, shonen-ai
RATING: PG
CREDIT: a dead website
Summary: The book begins with a short story about InuYasha's childhood, where InuYasha asks his mother something to the effect of 'why will no one play with me' or 'why am I different'. Next, we move into a story about Miroku and his failed attempt at convincing yet another young woman to bear his children, which progress into some comedic shonen-ai bonding between InuYasha and Miroku.
TITLE: Konoyo no HanaMEANING: This World's Flower/ The Wordly Flower / Flower of this World
CIRCLE: Vitamen X
GENRE: serious
RATING G
CREDIT: No Winter Lasts Forever
Summary: This beautiful book tells the story of Sesshoumaru's youth, and come of the events that lead up to InuYasha's birth. The story begins when Sesshoumaru was still a young boy, who had wandered into a human village despite his mother's warnings. Angry However, before any harm can fall upon Sesshoumaru, a young woman intervenes and Sesshoumaru is able to get away. Time passes and Sesshoumaru grows into a young man. One day a carriage arrives at his father's estate and drops off a young woman. Sesshoumaru is shocked to find that she is the same girl that rescued him as a young boy. Leter, we find out that the woman was with child and delivered a hanyou son. However, it is not long after that the boy's mother die. A few years later, Sesshoumaru encounters InuYasha, young, alone, and crying, in the forest. At first, it appears that Sesshoumaru intends to kill this "worthless hanyou", but before he does he remembers the face of the woman that saved his life, and returns the favor by letting her son live.
TITLE: Temari UtaMEANING: The Round Ball Song
CIRCLE: Hanasarasu
GENRE: Romance
RATING: PG-13 (however, the scans here are G)
CREDIT: IYED Scans (ADULTS ONLY)
Summary: I believe the name makes reference to a nursery rhyme about the ball game temari. The book itself is mostly an InuYasha and Kagome love story and begins when InuYasha becomes ill in the modern era. Kagome who takes it upon herself to make sure he gets well, and it is her tender care that reminds InuYasha of how his mother would care for him as a child. The book ends on a comedic note when InuYasha gets a little too frisky, and it is Kagome that brings his advances to an abrupt halt with a certain word. The book is not explicit, although there are a few 'anatomy' lessons.
TITLE: LunaMEANING: Latin for "moon"
CIRCLE: Lavendar House
GENRE: normal
RATING: G
CREDIT: No Winter Lasts Forever
Summary: This book contains three different stories that each deal with Sesshoumaru and Rin's [non romantic] relationship. The story here is the first, although only pages that showed Izayoi were scanned [and this turned out to be very few]. The story begins as Rin and Jaken watch a bride pass by. This promps Rin to ask if Sesshoumaru will make her his bride one day, which causes Jaken to freak out. After ordering Jaken to leave, Rin and Sesshoumaru continue thier talk, and this causes Sesshoumaru to remember how a human caused some youkai to become stronger. [And yes, the paper is tinted sea-green]
TITLE: Hikari no ShirubeMEANING: Guiding Light
CIRCLE: Storm Igarashi
GENRE: normal
RATING: G
CREDIT: personal collection
Summary: The cover alone made me want to buy this book; it's beautiful! The book is very small, however, although the stroy is bittersweet. Set during InuYasha's childhood, Izayoi finds it hard to keep his son away from danger. Despite being covered in mud, possibly from a fight, and being forbidden to play with a young girl by her mother, InuYasha still remains cheerful by Izayoi's side. However, disaster soon strikes and InuYasha thrown out from the mansion where he and Izayoi were staying after her apparant death. The story ends on a happier note as Kagome reassures InuYasha that she will always be there for him.
TITLE: Nagori Tsuki (Ichi)
MEANING: The Moon's Memory (One)
CIRCLE: Sakurai Kiye
GENRE: serious, yaoi
RATING: NC17
CREDIT: personal collection
Summary: The first book in a series of at least four that follow InuYasha's childhood, beginning with his father's death. The story is fairly serious, and there are some intense yaoi scenes between Sesshoumaru and InuYasha. However, the highlight is that Izayoi makes an appearance, especially in the next installment. The story follows like so: Following Inu no Taisho's instructions, InuYasha is left in the care of Sesshoumaru, and told to deliver the young boy to his mother, Izayoi. Despite the initial resentment, Sesshoumaru slowly warms up to the boy as he is forced to care for him (for reasons I have not yet figured out, Izayoi appears to want them to get to know each other).
TITLE: Nagori Tsuki (Ni)
MEANING: The Moon's Memory (Two)
CIRCLE: Sakurai Kiye
GENRE: serious, yaoi
RATING: NC17
CREDIT: personal collection
Summary: My personal favorite, depsite another intense yaoi scene. The story revolves around the Black Pearl. Myouga was given instructions on how and where to put it: InuYasha's eye. Initially unwilling, Izayoi eventually agrees to put the pearl inside InuYasha's eye. However, all is not well, and later Izayoi abruptly falls to the ground while watching InuYasha play under the mindful eyes of Sesshoumaru. What could have happened?
