Introduction

InuYasha is a manga-turned-anime originally written and illustrated by the renowned manga-ka Rumiko Takahashi The manga has only recently been finished with a total of 56 volumes. The anime series, on the other hand, finished well before with 167 episodes, leaving viewers without a conclusion. The story can be divided into two main parts; finding the Shikon no Tama and destroying the series' main anagonist, Naraku. These two plots eventually overlap and intertwine with each other as the story moves forward.

The series follows the adventures of Kagome, a typical high-school girl who is sent back in time to Japan's feudal era. There she meets the half-human, half-dog-demon Inuyasha, who has been imprisoned for attempting to steal the mystical Jewel of the Four Souls. When the jewel is shattered and its shards are scattered across the land, Kagome and Inuyasha must reluctantly team up to recover them before they fall into the wrong hands. Thus begins their quest to find the shards and make the Shikon no Tama whole again. InuYasha and Kagome are soon joined on their journey by a a young fox demon, a lecherous monk, a demon-slayer, and her pet nekomata.
